Howitt has allocated server space with Vio Worldwide Limited which can be used for secure transfer of pre press files. Files can be sent to us via ISDN, IP (internet) or HTTP (web). You do not need to invest in any software to send files and there are no file transfer fees.
To send a file please follow the
instructions below:
If you have a PC with high speed Internet access please contact Howitt.co.uk go to the Contact Us Tab button
• Select the Send to me button
• Click on the ‘Send to me’ icon at the top
of the page.
• The Vio application will load automatically.
• A job ticket will appear for you to fill in.
• Attach your files or drag them into the
attachment window.
• Click the ‘Send’ button.
If you have a Mac with high speed
Internet access
• Please contact us and request a ‘Red hot
icon’. We send you ‘Red hot icon’
(job ticket) and a small application to place
on your desktop.
• Drag your files onto the ‘Red hot icon’
• This will open a Job Ticket.
• Fill in the title and instruction parts of
the ticket.
• Click the ‘Send’ button |

If you have an ISDN connection
• Make a new entry in your ISDN address book.
• Our ISDN number is 02075102271
• Click on power options - outgoing security
• Check the ‘enable outgoing security’ box
• Connect as a Registered user.
• Name: jhowitt Password: vioopen
Problems
• If you encouter problems with any of the
above ways of sending files to us, this
is normally down to the settings on
your Firewall/proxy server.
• The firewall/proxy ports required are:
Port Protocol Port Protocol IP Address
80 HTTP and 443 HTTPS to 81.89.160.254
(Application Server)
20 FTP and 21 FTP to 63.236.87.65
(Internet File-Store)
• Also ensure the client web browser is set
to medium security.
